When I was 17, I had one goal: to move to the United States and chase the American dream.
I had no college degree, few connections, but a strong burning desire. I tried every legal way to get into the US: tourist visas, business visitor visas, the E2 Visa (denied for stupid bureaucratic reasons), and I even considered enrolling in college just to obtain the work-restrictive F1 Student Visa. Anything to not be stuck in my parents' house in Canada (sorry mom).
This whole time, I had overlooked the O-1 Visaâthe elusive, "extraordinary ability" visa for people at the pinnacle of their fields.
There's no limit on how many can be issued, no lotteryâjust pure merit. If you qualify, you can work for three years, renew it infinitely, and immediately apply for the EB1A Green Card (the highest priority employment-based green card) with nearly the same qualifications.
But here's the thing: I realized the biggest obstacle to getting an O-1 was the lack of accessible information. What qualifies for each O-1 qualification? Who can sponsor me? Who are reliable lawyers? There's so much gatekeeping, and even then, lawyers have incomplete information on all the ways you can get the O-1.
Skilled Immigration shouldn't be this hard.
That's why Extraordinary Club exists. If you have an O-1 Visa and/or the EB1A Green Card, I have one ask. Let me share your story of how you got your O-1 Visa or EB1A to help others, and I'll give you an embroidered Alien of Extraordinary Ability hoodie for free! Pay it forward.
The opportunity cost of not being in the right place is insane. If you are ambitious and want to come to the US, I'm building this to be the most valuable resource for your journey to the US.
The American Dream is alive, and I'm here to help đşđ¸
